| 8x57mm; 75% blue, very good bore, good stock, 23.5'' barrel, Original blued finish. Rifle is mounted in a pre war Standard Model 98 walnut finger grooved stock, which has been lightly sanded with a faint Reichs Post roundel stamp on the left side of the butt. Upper and lower milled bands are not marked. Barreled action, complete bolt, trigger guard assembly along with the action screws are all matching. Mauser "42" code is stamped on top of the receiver ring along with the date 1940. Eagle/swaztika military acceptance marks located on the left side of the barrel chamber and receiver ring. The right side of the receiver ring is stamped with three eagle/655 proofs, right side of the rear sight base sleeve stamped with three eagle/WaA655 proofs. Small parts except the bands are eagle/655 proofed as well. The stocks buttplate is stamped with a unit mark "2/155". No import marks. Bore has shine with strong rifling, minor corrosion along the grooves., s/n 17xxt |
