| 8x57mm; 95% blue, very good bore, very good+ stock, 23.5'' barrel, A very rare example of a commercial Mauser Standard-Modell receiver diverted for K98k production. This rifle is listed by serial number in Bruce Karem and Michael Steves Karabiner 98k book, Volume II a, on page 189. It's noted that c.1941 commercial receivers were pulled from stored inventory, commercial markings removed from the left receiver wall, with the standard military designation "Mod.98" added. The Mauser Banner logo was retained on top of the receiver ring. Numbering began in the bb suffix block and continued into the hh suffix. Making this rifle one of the earlier builds. The rifles were fitted up as standard K98k rifles then in production, completed with eagle/655 proofing and milltary acceptance eagle/swaztika proofing. This example is in overall excellent condition. All matching serial numbers to include the action screws. Most parts stamped with eagle/WaA655 proofs. Walnut stock, matching, with strong eagle/H Heer mark and two eagle/WaA655 proofs on the right side of the butt. The bottom of the grip and butt have several eagle/WaAA655 proofs as well.
