The barrel is part octagon, the front sight is a blade and the rear are a flip up ladder style. The blue on the barrel is thinning with mild spotting. The receiver is stamped on the left side with MANUFACTURED BY / MASS.ARMS CO / CHICOPEE FALLS / Poultney & TRIMBLE / BALTIMORE U.S.A. / SMITH’S PATENT / JUNE 23, 1857 The action works well, and the lockup is tight. The It has a brown leather sling is in good condition the walnut forearm and the buttstock are in very good condition with mild small handling and storage wear. The steel rollover buttplate has some handling marks but has no corrosion., s/n 78xx |
