| 36 Cal; good bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, 4th variation. Manufactured 1859-1868, sometimes called the Manhattan navy Revolver. Original metal finish has turned a blue/gray patina. Trace original faded case color can be seen on the frame. Varnish finished walnut grip. Silver plated brass trigger guard and backstrap with traces of the plated finish remaining in the protected areas. 5-shot cylinder with 90% engraved scenes remaining. Stamped on top of the barrel "MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK, N.J./PATENTED MARCH 8, 1864". The cylinder has an 1859 patent date flanking one of the nipple notches. Matching serial numbers. The metal has some light spotting over all and the grip show some handling and wear to the varnish finish, though the finish is generous on the grips. Mechanically fine with a crisp action.
