| 38 Caliber; 75% blue, good bore, good grips, 4 11/16'' barrel, Manufactured by James D Dougal of Glasgow c.1850. Blued finish octagonal barrel with fixed sight. Blued finish 5-shot cylinder. Casehardened frame with integral V notch rear sight. Double action only mechanism. Retailer engraved on top of the barrel "CARTER LONDON". Checkered walnut grips. Simpole scroll engraving. Standard British black powder proofing. Most of the case color has faded from the frame and straps. Finish wear on the barrel and cylinder, most loss on the barrel under the side mounted loading lever. Mechanically in fine condition. Cased, green felt lined compartmentalized interior in good condition. Lockable, but no key. Inside the case are accessories, Bartram & Co brass flask with adjustable spout in good condition, few dents. Wooden handled nipple wrench. Brass ball and minnie mold marked ADAMS, serial numbered and with a number 54 on one side. Polished wood cleaning rod with ram and jag tips. F. Joyce London percussion cap tin, no caps but has small brass hinges inside? Grease tin with waxed paper cover, lid marked Drane Adams & Co London. And a small cloth ditty bag. All items appear to be vintage. The wooden case shows its age. But is in overall good condition. James Dougall label inside the lid. Antique |
