| Original pre-1901 manufacture, marked on the left side of the 13 1/8 inch speer pointed blade V/crown/R (Victoria Rex) over JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS/CUTLERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES/No6 NORFOLK STREET/SHEFFIELD, this information preceeded by a + and asterisk style marks. The blade is 1/4 inch wide. Fitted with stag handles and silver plate guard, the handle has a slight curve in the grip toward the back. OAL 18 3/8 inches. Complete with the original leather scabbard with silver plated mounts. The blade has some scattered dark spotting and an area of etched pitting on the right side near the tip. The blade shows signs of being sharpened long ago. The guard has a few small dings. The handles are tight. The scabbard is intact and supple, the mounts showing signs of being cleaned at some point. Overall condition is very good. |
