| 54 Caliber; good bore, very good stock, 8 1/2'' barrel, HENRY ASTON MODEL 1842 CAP & BALL PISTOL DATED 1849 IN ANTIQUE GOOD CONDITION. THE MODEL 1842 WAS THE LAST SINGLE SHOT SMOOTHBORE PISTOL ISSUED BY THE U.S.ARMY. THE IN THE WHITE BARREL IS HEAVILY OXIDIZED AND PITTED. THE LOCK HAS BROWNED AND HAS LIGHT PITTING PRESENT. THE LOCK IS MARKED "US OVER H.ASTON." THE REAR OF THE LOCK IS MARKED " MIDDTN/CONN/1849." THE STOCK IS SOLID IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH BRASS FITTINGS., s/n 18xx |
