| 8.15x46mm; 85% blue, very good bore, good stock, 31'' barrel, GERMAN SHUTZEN RIFLE WITH NO MAKERS IDENTIFICATION OTHER THAN GERMAN PROOFS AND THE INITIALS "G.B." UNDER THE HANDGUARD. THE CALIBER DESIGNATION IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BARREL JUST AHEAD OF THE RECEIVER. THE BLUING SHOWS HIGH EDGE WEAR ALONG WITH LIGHT FRECKLING ON THE OCTAGONAL BARREL THE RECEIVR HAS TURNED MOSTLY PATINA AND HAS ENGRAVING (60% COVERAGE) OVERALL. THE BORE IS BRIGHT WITH VERY GOOD RIFLING. THE CHECKERED BUTTSTOCK IS NICELY GRAINED WITH AN ELABORATE CHEEKPIECE AND HOOK BUTT PLATE. THE FOREARM HAS REPAIRED CRACKS ON BOTH SIDES. THE ACTION IS FITTED WITH DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS. THE REAR SIGHT IS AN ELABORATE TANG APERATURE. SOME GERMAN GUN MAKER PUT A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORET INTO THIS BUILD., s/n 63 |
