| Issued during WW1 as an expedient measure to produce rifle bayonets quickly that would fit Gew98 rifles, some were designed to fit both Gew88 and Gew98 rifle as well as captured French rifles. Many variations exist. This variation fits the Gew88 and Gew98 rifle, no scabbard, finished in the white. 12.5 inch un-fullered blade, unmarked. Imperial proofed on the guard. Hollow metal one piece handle, stamped on the end of the pommel with an "E". Heavy pitting on the handle with some light pitting on the blade. The catch works fine., |
