| E.u.F. Horster 1940 manufacture with mis-matched scabbard by Carl Eichorn 1939. The bayonet is serial number 9976g, scabbard serial number is 9509h. Complete with an original leather belt frog without the small keeper strap for the handle, maker marked Gersdorf and dated 1941. The blade retains 90% original blue finish, most of the finish loss on both sides near the tip with some dark spotting in those areas. The bakelite handles are good. The handle areas metal has worn finish, the flash guard is undamaged. The scabbard shows finish wear and scratches with a crease dent on the back which does not interfere with blade insertion. The frog shows some surface leather wear and minor cracking. Overall good-very good condition., |
