| Plated steel, bearskin wrapped around the lower half. Brass trimmed with gilded brass fitting and comb. Black horse hair tail. Red dyed horse hair plume at the front of the comb with red feather plume on the left side. No markings found except for a name hand written on the leather liner "Le Blanc". Sinching string present but unlaced on the liner. Over all very good condition. Most of the gold gilding has worn from the comb, some gilding present on the plume holder and chin strap mounts. The bearskin wrap around the lower half of the helmet is separsting at the seam and appears to have shrunk some, no major damage so it could be repaired easily., |
