| 7x57mm; fair bore, fair stock, 29'' barrel, Manufactured in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale c.1896. Possilby Spanish contract or for South American sales. Trace blued finish remains on the metal ,which has turned mostly rust patina. Walnut stock. Walnut handguard is a replacement. Bolt is not numbered however is Belgian proofed. Small ring Mauser action, stamped on top of the chamber "FABRIQUE NATIONALE / HERSTAL-LIEGE". No import markings found. The wood is dry, with cracks fore and aft of the trigger guard, one on the right side of the butt, and on the bottom of the forend behind the upper band spring. The upper band has a Turkish crescent moon stamp. Other parts though mis-matched appear to be original Belgian parts. Stock is not marked. Mechanically fine. The bore shows good rifling however is dark and dirty throughout., s/n A35xx |
