Stamped on the left side of the receiver "Kbk.S.wz.31". Bayonet lug omitted on this example. Original fixed front sight, original and proper tangent rear sight graduated 20-100 meters along the left side of the leaf. Poland was one of the first countries in Europe to standardize military training for their armed services after WW1. At first using converted service rifles until beginning production of dedicated 22 training rifles c.1930. Another interesting fact is that the Poles utilized the 22 Short cartridge instead of the more common 22 Long Rifle chambering in the Wz31 training rifles. From the collection of Robert Simpson, this rifle is pictured in the book "Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany" on page 606., Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany pp 606, s/n 134xx |
