| 7 MM; 96% blue, very good bore, very good stock, 28'' barrel, Here we present a DWM Brazilian Contract Model 1908 Military Rifle, made circa 1910 in Berlin, Germany. The Mauser Modelo 1908 long rifle became the standard infantry rifle for the Brazilian Army in 1908. These rifles were produced by DWM. DWM then in turn contracted some of these rifles out to Mauser Oberndorf. The only difference between the two rifles would be the maker’s address. If marked Berlin, it was made by DWM, and if marked Oberndorf, it was made by Mauser. The contract ran from 1908 until the outbreak of World War I in 1914. The front sight is a ramped blade, and the rear is a ladder style graduated to 2000 meters. The top of the chamber has the Brazilian crest. The right side of the chamber has Mod.1908, and the left side has the S/N 985. The receiver and bolt, and the stock are numbers correct. The overall condition is excellent. The action also is excellent. Bright bore. Fine stock with little handling/storage wear. This example is nicely refinished. Clear markings. Modern leather sling is in good shape., s/n B9xx |
