Description:
30 Luger; 98% blue, 95% straw, excellent bore, excellent grips, 11.75'' barrel, This particular Luger Carbine is listed in the DWM Commercial database on page 30. Blued finish, possibly a professional restoration at some point, strawed small parts and checkered beechwood grips. Numbered parts are matching with the last two digits. Right grip panel is matching, having an additional non-matching number. Toggle is stamped with the DWM monogram. Commercial Crown/N proofs are located on the bottom of the barrel, left side of the barrel extension and left side of the breechbolt. 1906 grip safety, serial numbered and matching. Toggle housing safety mark in the white. Proper wood bottom magazine stamped "GERMANY" across the base and "Cal. 7,65" on the tail. "GERMANY" export marks also located on the bottom of the barrel and front of the frame. Fixed front inverted V front sight mounted on a fine serrated ramp. Fixed rear sight on rear toggle. A carbine rear sight has been added at a later time, the base split on the bottom, the base held with a screw thru the top. Sight leaf functions as it should and the quality of installation of this sight is professional. The metal finish shows minor sharp edge wear. Accessories accompany this carbine: an original walnut shoulder stock which fits the lug perfectly. The attaching iron is not numbered. Original blue finish, strawed lever. Plastic serrated buttplate. The stock itself is in near excellent overall condition. Period leather double magazine pouch with snap closures, with two extra original wood bottom magazines, both marked across the base "GERMANY", also an original WW1 era Imperial proofed takedown tool. Two extra losse magazines, one with unmarked base, one with "GERMANY" marked base. Two original brass cleaning rods, one 17 inch with oiler handle, one 16 inch with wood barrel shaped handle. Also includes an extra buttplate for the shoulder stock, comtemporary pocket borelight, and a contemporary foam lined hard case for storage and transport. This is a very exceptional example of a post WW1 commercial carbine with generous accessories., s/n 357xx, Catalog Number D-700
