| An extremely rare Dutch 1905 Second Trials pattern Type B Luger pistol holster. Believed to be the only Type B example known to have survived. Dark brown leather with pouches for oiler handle cleaning rod laong the leading edge, takedown tool and pin punch pouces on the front. Small flaps sewn in sides of top flap present. Brass fittings for all closures with a brass tipped down strap. Belt loop on back angled at 45 degrees. "F" stamped on upper front corner on back. "05/Ko/B" stamped near center below the belt loop indicating 1905 manufacture, Ko & B were makers/inspectors marks. Includes an original takedown tool and prototype stepped head pin punch tool. This holster is featured on page 1201 of "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Very good for its age. Cracking and flaking of surface finish on the flap and straps. Outer butt flap on the main flap has begun to separate. Brass fittings with original age patina. Original takedown tool and pin punch are very good., |
