| 54 Caliber; fair bore, good stock, 36'' barrel, Manufactured by H. Deringer, marked on the lockplate with a large US over "H. DERINGER/PHILAD". Rifled round barrel with fixed sights. Iron mounted walnut stock with strong inspector cartouche on left side. Oval shaped iron patchbox. US stamped on buttplate tang. 1826 date stamped on top of the barrel tang. Barrel chamber area marked "US / JM" over a halmarked P. Rust patina metal. Ramrod is a newer replacement. Lock functions. Bore is surface rusted with strong rifling. Antique. |
