| 38 CF CAL; good bore, excellent grips, 7 1/2'' barrel, COLT 1861 RICHARDS-MASON CIVILIAN MODEL METALLIC CARTRIDGE CONVERSION CHAMBERED IN 38 CF IN ANTIQUE FINE CONDITION. THIS COLT IS FROM THE PERSONAL COLLECTION OF ROBERT SUTHERLAND AND PICTURED ON PAGE 226 IN HIS BOOK "THE BOOK OF COLT FIREARMS". THE REVOLVER WAS ORIGINALLY CONVERTED TO FIRE THE 38 RF CARTRIDGE AND LATER UPGRADED FOR THE 38 CF CARTRIDGE. THE SILVER PLATED FINISH RATES APPROX 75%. THE BORE IS BRIGHT WITH GOOD DISTINCT RIFLING ALONG WITH SOME LIGHT OXIDATION PRESENT. THE IVORY GRIPS ARE EXCELLENT AND WELL FITTED. |
