| 56 Caliber; good bore, good stock, 21'' barrel, 1855 "British Carbine" with brass trigger guard and buttplate. British proofed on the left side of the barrel and at each chamber. 5 shot fluted cylinder. Patina metal with dark spotting and traces of blued finish. Plain oil finished walnut stock. Round barrel with partial octagon breech. Brass front sight blade, fixed rear sight with two folding leafs. Marked on the frames topstrap "COL. COLT HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". Left frame is stamped "COLT'S PATENT" near the saddle ring. The action functions well and the bore is good with strong rifling, some minor corrosion. Antique, s/n 114xx |
