| No makers markings. 28.25 inch double edged etched blade with gold hihglight. Stamped at the ricasso with a number "21". 34.75 inch OAL, leather covered handle with brass braided wire, gold washed brass guard and pommel. Shows wear with the handle being a bit loose. Brass mounted leather covered scabbard with enraved mounts, the center mount engraved with shovel, pick and staff. The leather is worn with areas of cracking and loss. The stud on the upper mount is stamped with an 1858 patent date. |
