| Description: |
| 9mm Glisenti; 90% blue, very good bore, very good grips, 3.75'' barrel, The Beretta Model 1923 pistol, based on the WW1 era Model 1915, was a service pistol used in limited quantity by the Italian Army from 1923 into the WW2 era, an estimated 10,400 were produced, with only about 3000 acquired for the military during the war. This example is commercial manufacture and dated 1935. The left side of the slide is marked "PISTOLA-BERETTA-9M BREV. 1915-1919-MO1923". The right side of the slide and frame both have the S/N 310485 with the last two matching digits visible on the trigger. The sights are fixed. The metal finish has wear on the grip frame and edges. The ribbed metal grips are in very good condition. The butt of the grip frame is has the rather scarce nmachined slots for attachment of a holster/stock which was not exactly popular or useful. This pistol has a fractured slide, on the right side near the muzzle end just below the front sight. An attempt to repair was made at some point however the fracture is visible. These pistols were chambered for the 9mm Glisenti cartridge, which was dimensionally identical to the 9x19mm Parabellum, however the Glisenti cartridge had a lighter load. We speculate that at some point 9mm Parabellum was used which caused the damage to the slide., s/n 3104xx |
