| 12 Gauge; fair bore, good stock, 27 1/8'' barrel, Manufactured by Francis Bannerman of New York after the purchase of Spencer Arms Company circa 1890s, Bannerman manufactured this shotgun until about 1907. Fine twist barrel stamped on top SPENCER RPTG. SHOT GUN PAT. APL. 1882. Stamped on the left side of the receiver F.BANNERMAN MANUFACTURER NEW YORK U.S.A./MODEL 1896. The metal has turned mostly dark patina overall with solme light spotting. The wood was lightly sanded and refinished long ago, showing scattered minor dings and light scratches. The forend has a tight crack on the left side about 3 inches long. Mechanically fine. The bore has surface rust throughout. C&R/FFL, s/n 177xx |
