| Säbel ZH 1770/78. Degen Unberührtes Original aus dem 18. Jh. Infanteriesäbel aus dem Alten Zürich Ordonnanz 1770 (das ist das Datum des Beschlusses) / 1778 (das ist das Datum, an dem das entsprechende Reglement gedruckt wurde. Die Ornamente auf der Klinge sind standardisiert: Devise "Für Gott und das Vatterland", Zürcher Wappenlöwe mit Wappen und Fürstenhut als Zeichen der Souveränität. Der Griff besteht aus vielen Teilen: Griffbügel mit herzförmigem Stichblatt, der Griff wird im kugelförmigen Knauf eingehakt. Über dem Knauf ist noch ein taillierter Vernietzylinder angebracht. Der Griff besteht aus dem hölzernen Gehilze, darüber Wickeldraht. Über und unter dem Wickeldraht Zwingen. Unter der unteren Zwinge war an einer Scheibe der Daumenring angelötet. Dieser wurde reglementarisch entfernt. Bern und Zürich überliefern Diskussionen über Daumenringe an den Säbeln, die zu verletzten und ausgerenkten Daumen führten. Obschon dieser Säbeltyp im 18. Jh. häufig war, ist er selten geworden, weil ab 1803 die Griffe mit modernen und einfachen Winkelbügelgriffen aus einem Stück Messingguss ersetzt wurden. Unberührtes Originalstück im Fundzustand. Das herzförmige Stickblatt wackelt etwas, der Spielraum zwischen Stichblatt und Klinge könnte mit einem Stück Holz oder altem Leder stabilisiert werden. |
