| Säbel 18. Jh., Schweiz, Degen Inf oder Gren Säbel um 1790 Das ist jetzt der dritte Typ Säbel mit diesem Aussehen, den ich gefunden habe. Alle stammen aus dem Gebiet von Bern und Biel. Es handelt sich aber nicht um einen Ordonnanzsäbel von Bern im ancien Regime. Der Griff ist mit Leder bezogen und mit Wickeldraht umwunden. Gefässteile Messing, auffallend sind die Mitteleisen. Eigentlich ist diese Griffform eher für Säbel für Berittene und nicht für Inf oder Gren Säbel. Der Säbel ist originalvernietet und hat eine passgenaue Scheide. Klinge mit Rückenrinne und Resten von gängigen Gravuren (Stern, Mond). Der Klingenort ist etwas abgeschliffen. Die etwas schiefe Montage ist meiner Ansicht nach nicht durch Gewalt entstanden, sondern dadurch, dass Angel und Griffbügel in der Länge nicht übereinstimmten. Die Klinge ist etwas fleckig und scheint von hoher Qualität zu sein, das bei Inf Säbeln aus dieser Zeit nicht immer der Fall ist. Ein sehr interessantes Stück, das mit seinem Stilgemisch an französische Revolutionssäbel erinnert. |
