Peu connu du grand public, il équipe pourtant plusieurs polices et armées dans le monde, notamment en France ou il accompagne les agents de la RATP en version 9mm, achat effectué en Juin 2017. On peut voir l'arme apparaitre dans Resident Evil 4, ainsi que son remake de 2023, nommé Blacktail. Ce XDM-40 de très haute qualité Tokyo Marui est inspiré du XD(M)® 4.5´´ et est une réplique qui change des PA classiques (1911, M9, Hi-Capa, Glock), offrant une jolie alternative.
