| Vends Buck frontiersman de 1989 acier 425 Le Buck 124 a été conçu à l'origine en 1966 comme un couteau de plongée de combat appelé le Nemo. Le modèle est ensuite entré en production en 1967 et a été proposé soit avec un fourreau de plongée (NEMO), soit avec un fourreau en cuir (FRONTIERSMAN). Le couteau était le même et l'est resté jusqu'à ce jour. Environ 300 exemplaires ont été produits dans les années 1960 et avaient des poignées phénoliques noires avec des entretoises en téflon blanc. Puis, dans les années 1970, il a connu une production fluctuante, avec des chiffres de vente très faibles, jusqu'à ce qu'en 1973, il soit proposé avec une poignée " Buckarta " (Micarta) et commence à trouver la faveur du public, avec plus de 10 000 exemplaires vendus jusqu'au début des années 1980. Jusqu'en 1983, la production de modèles reste élevée et en 1984, une version du FRONTIERSMAN avec un manche en Pakkawood est introduite. La version 1984 n'avait pas les logos du brevet gravés, la version 1985 avait les logos du brevet gravés et à partir de 1986, le couteau a commencé à avoir la date de production gravée sur la lame.
