Beschreibung
Die Pistole wurde 1914 von Franz Jaeger aus Suhl zu Beginn des Ersten Weltkriegs entwickelt und von der deutschen Armee als offizielle Offizierspistole für den Privatkauf zugelassen. Die Produktion endete 1917, nachdem Jaeger und sein Bruder eingezogen worden waren. Insgesamt wurden rund 13.000 Stück gefertigt. Mehrere Tausend, darunter auch dieses Exemplar, waren Privatkäufe des Militärs und wurden mit kleinen Abnahmestempeln am Laufansatz versehen. Ansonsten handelt es sich um eine Standardpistole der zweiten Variante mit neu aufgetragener Brünierung, fester Visierung und Griffschalen aus Kunstharz mit Fischhautmuster. ZUSTAND: Gut. Die Pistole weist noch den Großteil ihrer alten Brünierung auf, die über Flecken aufgetragen wurde, mit leichten Abnutzungsspuren an den Kanten. Die linke Griffschale zeigt Haarrisse. Die rechte Griffschale weist im oberen Bereich stärkere Risse mit einer kleinen Fehlstelle auf. Der Lauf ist gut erhalten und mattiert. Feinmechanik

Developed by Franz Jaeger of Suhl in 1914 at start of World War I, the German army accepted the design as an approved private purchase pistol for officers. Production ended in 1917 after Jaeger and his brother were drafted, production totaling around 13,000 units. Several thousand, including this example were military private purchases and were marked with small acceptance stamps on the barrel lug. Otherwise a standard 2nd variation pistol with reapplied blued finish, fixed sights, and checkered composition grips. CONDITION: Good. Pistol retains the vast majority of its older blued finish applied over freckling with some high edge wear present. Left grips shows crazing. Right grip has some more significant cracking towards the top with a small loss. Well defined, frosted bore. Fine mechanics
