| Description: |
| The Tachi ?? is an authentic Japanese sword that has been traditionally crafted and worn by the samurai class during feudal Japan. Compared to the katana, the Tachi is longer and has a different degree of curvature, as well as a different way of being worn. Originally the mainstream Japanese sword during the Kot? period (between 900 and 1596), Tachi swords were eventually converted and shortened into Katana during the Muromachi period. The blade is forged from hand-folded carbon steel and folded 12 times, ensuring its durability and strength. The Honsanmai design is commonly used for blades. To reduce the weight of the saber, the blade is fluted. The tsuka, or handle, is made of wood and underlaid with genuine stingray skin and wrapped in white leather cord. The two Mekugis, or bamboo dowels, attached to the handle further enhance the sword's stability and balance. This Tachi sword is a must-have for anyone interested in Japanese history or traditional swordsmanship, and its expert craftsmanship and attention to detail make it a truly remarkable piece. |
