The gas-driven A.R.G.O system contains a short stroke piston, and is located under the barrel, near the explosion chamber, to harness the hottest gases for greater pressure. The gases produced in the barrel relax (in the gas intake group) and rapidly accelerate the stroke of the piston, which will strike against the thrust axis of the shutter, transmitting to it a sufficient impulse to make it move back. |
