Das Modell 681 ist die "Service"-Version des Modells 686, der Unterschied sind die festen Visiereinrichtungen. Der hier gezeigte Revolver wurde 1982 nach dem Buch "The Standard Catalog of S&W" hergestellt, hier in der allerersten "No-Dash"-Version, die seit 1980 hergestellt wird.
