| Pistole 08 Neben der Colt Government ist sie fraglos die berühmteste Faustfeuerwaffe des 20. Jahrhunderts: die von Georg Luger entwickelte Selbstladepistole mit dem typischen Kniegelenk-Verschluß. Der bekannteste Vertreter dieser Pistolenfamilie heißt in Sammlerkreisen kurz “08†— so benannt nach dem Einführungsjahr 1908. VISIER würdigt dieses Jubiläum mit einem Sonderheft, das bildgewaltig Faszination, Eleganz und Schönheit dieser Pistolenart präsentiert — zum Beispiel mit Waffenfotos sowie historischen Aufnahmen von Polizisten und Soldaten. Zudem wird die Funktion ebenso vorgestellt wie die Entwicklung und die Hauptvarianten — dies aber nicht nur mit Blick auf die Sammlerwelt, sondern auch auf die Waffen-Einsteiger und die Schießpraxis. Pflege- und Reinigungshinweise sowie Lade- und Schießtips haben in diesem Heft einen hohen Stellenwert. Das gilt sowohl für die Pistole 08 als auch für Muster mit Anschlagschaft. Außerdem bezieht sich das Special auf Varianten in anderen Kalibern als 9 mm Para und auf die “Verwandten†à la Lahti und Nambu. Die 08 stellt nur ein Mitglied einer Pistolenfamilie dar: 1904 führte die kaiserliche Marine ein Luger-Modell ein, 1906 folgte dann die schweizerische Armee. Als sich die US-Armee in jener Zeit auf die Suche nach einer Ordonnanzpistole begab, spielte auch Lugers Modell eine wichtige Rolle.
