Der Lauf verfügt über scharfe Felder und Züge, was sich positiv auf die Präzision auswirkt – eine Eigenschaft, für die der M96 seit jeher geschätzt wird. Der Schaft zeigt altersgemäße Gebrauchsspuren, die jedoch ausschließlich optischer Natur sind und den historischen Charakter des Gewehrs sogar unterstreichen.
