Das Daniel Defense M4A1 verfügt über das M4A1 RIS II, das seit 2005 vom US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) für das Waffensystem SOPMOD II verwendet wird. Die M4A1 verfügt über einen 14,5" kaltgeschmiedeten M4-Profil-Lauf mit einem fest montierten Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor. Die M4A1 wurde 2014 eingeführt und ist eines von 4 Modellen, die mit der neuen Mil Spec+ Cerakote-Beschichtung versehen sind. Dieses Gewehr kommt auch mit dem neu gestalteten, robusten und komfortablen Daniel Defense Buttstock und Pistolengriff.
